The HRI hosted the 10th conference of the European Study Group on Cardiovascular Oscillations in Vienna.
The aim of the conference is to provide an interdisciplinary forum for discussions of biological oscillations between researchers drawn from areas such as physics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, cardiovascular regulation, neuroscience, time-series analysis, theory of nonlinear oscillatory dynamics, information processing, cardiovascular and microvascular physiology, cell biology and clinical sciences.

“Personal Healthcare System” of the Human Research Institute is an example of optimal cooperation between science and industry.
On the 19th of May, 2009, as part of the life-science-success the science2business award was assigned for best cooperation between industry and science. The award is provided and handed over by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Labor. The first award was assigned to Univ.-Prof. Dr. Maximilian Moser of the Human Research Institute and Medical University, Graz and Prim. Dr. Henry Puff of the Humanomed Center Althofen (SKA) for the project “Personal Healthcare System in clinic usage”.
